Potassium chloride is an ionic salt featuring a bond between an alkali metal and a halogen. It is denoted by the chemical formula KCl and is made up of potassium cations and chloride anions in a 1:1 ratio Potassium chloride is characterized by a colourless, crystalline appearance and an odourless smell. In its solid form, potassium chloride can be easily dissolved in water and the resulting KCl solution is said to have a salty taste. The primary application of this ionic salt is in the agriculture industry, where it is used in the production of crop fertilizers. Potash, a water-soluble crystalline material that is used for fertilization, can be prepared from potassium chloride (and some other minerals). This compound is also used as a substitute for common salt (sodium chloride) in food. Oral consumption of appropriate quantities of KCl can help treat low blood potassium in humans.

APPLICATIONS
It is used widely as a component for agricultural fertilizer. It is used to make Potash, which is an important source of potassium for plant growth.
It is used to treat cases of extremely low blood pressure.
It is used in cooking as a substituent for sodium chloride since it is required in a lesser amount.
It is used for cooking food for high blood pressure patients.
It is used in the industry as the raw material to manufacture potassium metal.
It is used in the soap industry as a water softening agent as an alternative to sodium chloride.
Potassium chloride can be used in the calibration of radiation monitoring equipments as a source for beta radiation.
Potassium chloride is used for the flux in oxy-fuel welding machines for the welding of aluminum. This is one of the important KCL uses.

Liquid Glucose or Corn Syrup is a purified aqueous solution of nutritive saccharides obtained from starch or aqueous solution of nutritive saccharide obtained by starch hydrolysis, by using Corn and Rice as raw material, which is purified and concentrated to required solids. It is usually odourless and clear yellow coloured viscous liquid sweet syrup which is processed and stored under hygienic conditions. It has wide application and is particularly useful where high concentrations of invert sugars are required. It also has such advantages as anti-crystalline, a lower freezing point and high degree of sweetening power relative to sucrose. Liquid Glucose, Glucose syrup and Corn syrups are synonyms. Liquid Glucose is one of the popular food additives and ingredients in most countries. Corn Syrup or liquid glucose is made from high-quality corn starch by subjecting starch to high temperature in the presence of acids under strict quality control. A series of two enzymatic reactions are used to convert the corn-starch to corn syrup. Its major uses in commercially prepared foods are as a thickener and sweetener. It has moisture-retaining (humectant) properties, which keep foods moist and help to maintain freshness.

Ferrous sulphate is an iron salt that is also known as green vitriol. Ferrous Sulphate signifies a variety of salts with the formula FeSO4⋅xH2O. The Other names of Iron (II) sulphate include; Ferrous sulphate, Green vitriol, Iron vitriol, Copperas, Melanterite, Solenocyte. Blue green heptahydrate (hydrate with “7” water molecules) is the most common type of this material. All Iron (II) sulphates dissolve in water to produce the same aquo complex [Fe(H2O)6]2+, which is paramagnetic and has the octahedral molecular geometry.

APPLICATIONS
Medicine: Iron deficiency is the most common nutritional deficiency in the United States. Athletes, young women, vegetarians, and older adults, for instance, are more likely to have iron deficiency than other people
Together with other iron compounds, ferrous sulfate fortifies foods and treats low iron levels in blood such as those caused by anemia or pregnancy
Iron helps blood to carry oxygen through the human body.
Colorant: Ferrous sulfate was used in the manufacture of inks, most notably iron gall ink, which was used during the Middle Ages until the end of the eighteenth century. Chemical tests made on the Lachish letters
Pomegranate to make a dark olive green
Madder (a Eurasian herb) to make a deep grayish purple
